Get Craqueleuring, it's almost the end of January!

More furniture please!

We've missed the furniture a bit over the last six months, and once we've finished our new year 20% off sale of all the small goods in the store, you'll see a little bit of a transformation as we start to refocus on our first love... beautiful furniture - for sale, sourcing and for painting/up-cycling commissions. We have some amazing pieces making their way to us, so keep an eye on the shop over the next few weeks! You'll be amazed what we can fit in!

We'll still be selling select homewares too and taking orders for our specialist and very high quality picture framing.

NEW Annie Sloan Scandi-inspired chalk paint

We’re very excited to have stock of the beautiful new colours in Annie Sloan’s chalk paint range. Say ‘Hej’ to Svenska Blue - a crisp and cool toned blue-grey, evocative of the colours seen throughout Swedish manor houses in the 17th and 18th Century; and Chicago Grey, a cool, fresh and modern grey, with a hint of blue. Perfect for the current trend for muted, Scandi grey and blue tones, Annie says Chicago Grey is ‘a perfect neutral for industrial interiors, or muted Scandinavian styling.’

We have both in store now. So come and see how they could transform your home before they all go!

Smoke and mirrors

Well we don’t really have smoke, aside from the lovely smell of everyone’s woodburners and fires around Limpsfield at the moment, but we do have Mirrors!

We’ll shortly be taking delivery of some beautiful large mirrors. Perfect for hanging or leaning, our mirrors’ frames are a mix of wood and resins. Very hard wearing, but not overly heavy; ready to hang and featuring very good quality bevelled glass. Pop into the shop next week and keep your eye on our social media for photos and details...

Faux flora, real quality

We will have an abundant supply of faux flora - flowers and plants - in the store by this weekend (26 January). Our faux plants are top quality, incredibly realistic and will include our best selling hydrangeas, hyacinths, grape hyacinths, roses and lavender. They’re the ultimate convenience flower, perfect for decorating your home, without the upkeep… they look gorgeous and are impossible to kill ;)

Get craqueleuring!

We’d very excited to announce more paint techniques workshops for February at the creative space of our Limpsfield High Street friends, Avalanche Gallery. Pencilled dates will be Weds 13 Feb, Tues 19 Feb and Weds 27 Feb. Please let us know if you’re interested via our Facebook event or via judie@meldonhouseandhome.com.

Working with Annie Sloan paints, waxes and tools, and designed to help teach you all you need to know to tackle up-cycling projects and furniture renovations, our workshops will be 3 hours and will cover techniques including:

Dry brushing, overweighted paint, craqueleur, stencilling, frottage and working with wax (including gilding wax).

We can't fit in everything, so we'd love to know which of these techniques you'd be most interested to learn.

Phew. So much to get on with. See you in the Limpsfield shop soon...
